چکیده

Laparoscopic approach for management of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) has been increasingly use by many surgeons which can provide a better surgical option T1-T3aN0M0 tumors. Surgical resection in the form radical nephrectomy and caval thrombectomy represents only to obtain local control disease is associated with durable oncologic control. Herein we present case 82 year old male presenting haematuria right flank pain palpable mass lumbar region. CT scan revealed presence upper pole limited within Gerota’s fascia thrombus vein extending IVC. Patient underwent laparoscopic cavatomy extension. Procedure was uneventful patient recovered well.

Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma.

PURPOSE To estimate the efficacy of the laparoscopic radical nephrectomy we analyzed the clinical data of our series. PATIENTS AND METHODS One hundred eighty five patients were enrolled in our laparoscopic radical nephrectomy program between July, 1992 and July, 2001. Of the 185 patients, 146 had small renal tumors (smaller than 5 cm in diameter) and 39 had large tumors (equal to or more than...

Transperitoneal laparoscopic right radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma and end-stage renal disease: a case report

Nephron-sparing surgery (partial nephrectomy) results are similar to those of radical nephrectomy for small (<4 cm) renal tumors. However, in patients with end-stage renal disease, radical nephrectomy emerges as a more efficient treatment for localized renal cell cancer. Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) increasingly is being performed. The objective of the present study was to present a c...

Adrenocortical carcinoma with renal vein tumor thrombus extension.

INTRODUCTION Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy with an incidence rate of 0.5-1 per million per year. (1) Tumor thrombus in this setting has been described but it represents an exceedingly rare surgical entity. However in one retrospective ACC series was reported in 25% of cases. Similar to other ACC tumors, up to 50% of tumors with thrombus extension are functional at diagnosi...

Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy for T2 Renal Cell Carcinomas

Purpose: A laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) has emerged as the standard care in appropriate candidates with stage T1 renal tumors (7cm or less). We extended our experience of LRN to stage T2 renal tumors (greater than 7cm), and compared the results with those of LRN for stage T1 renal tumors, as well as with those of an open radical nephrectomy (ORN) for stage T2 renal tumors. Materials a...

Transitional cell carcinoma with extension of the renal vein and IVC tumor thrombus: report of three cases and literature review

BACKGROUND Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) originating from the renal pelvis with a venous tumor thrombus is a rare entity. However, clinicians should be aware of it because of its high malignancy and poor prognosis. CASE PRESENTATION Here, we report three cases of pathologically confirmed TCC originating from the renal pelvis with extension into the renal vein or inferior vena cava (IVC). ...
